I have seen similar problems posted several times but none of the solutions have worked for me. I have also looked in the video redo forum with no luck.

I am using comskip to identify the commercials in the file and generate the VPrj file but video redo doesn't run from postprocessing.bat.

I can drag and drop the mpg file into the postprocessing.bat and everything works fine. I can use "open with" to send the mpg file to postprocessing.bat and everything works fine. It just won't work automatically after the recording ends and gbprv runs postprocessing.bat.

The postprocessing batch file:

"C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\comskip.exe" %1

cscript //nologo "C:\Program Files\VideoReDoTVSuite\vp.vbs" "%~dpn1.VPrj" "%~dpn1_Clean.mpg" /t1 /q

I am using gbpvr 1.3.7 and comskip79_98

Anyone have any ideas?

I guess videoredo can't find the file because the path in the filename (%~dpn1_Clean.mpg) is not "complete". Maybe you could enter a path statement in the batchfile that enters the path to the dir where the file is. e.g. : path=c:\recordings.
Something like that, you might have to refine it.

Thanks for the suggestion but that didn't work. I tried putting the directory and path in the source and target arguments for vp.vbs with no luck. I tried changing the directory to the directory with the source video files with no luck. I can still make it work by the "drag and drop" method or the "open with" method. I'm confused. I have read a lot of posts on how well this works. I must be missing something.

2 more suggestions:
- Could it be the "interact with desktop" setting of the gbpvrrecording service?
- Or it might have to do with the fact that postprocessing.bat runs from the local system-account (if it is started atomagically), when you run it manually or drag/drop afile on it, it runs under your user-account.

Thanks for the suggestions.

The service is set to "interact with desktop" with no change.

Your second suggestion was right on. The drag and drop method was being run under my admin user account and the automatic method is under the system account. The auto method starts a videoredo process that never does anything and never closes. Is there anyway to start the auto method under the user account?

You have to run the gbpvrrecordingservice under a user-account but then you can't set it to "interact with desktop", I'm not sure if you really need that.
There is a work around for that, somewhere on the forum.Sad
I did try to find it but coudn't. If you ask, I'm sure someone will come up with the right answer.
