Hi,

I have recently built a HT PC running WinXP/SP2 and GB-PVR, and with a Hauppauge PVR-150MCE (with the MCE-like USB remote). I've just downloaded and installed the latest MusicLibrary2 plugin. Great plugin, by the way, thanks!

I'm a bit of a newbie to MusicLibrary2, so there' may be a simple answer to the problems I'm having, that I hope someone can help with.

Now most functions work fine, except when I try to use the colour buttons on the remote. If I press the Green button, it briefly displays the Playlist screen but immediately flicks back to the main ML2 screen. If I press it often enough, eventually it may go to the Playlist screen, but the currently playing track starts playing at double speed (same pitch though). Then the problem is reversed and I can't get back to the main screen.

If I use Gtrl-G from the keyboard, it works fine, both directions.

Also, in ML and ML2, the Skip buttons don't do what I expect them to - forward jumps to the end of the list and backwards jdoesn't seem to do anything. Ctrl -> and Ctrl <- seem to work fine.

I'm thinking that the remote is causing the equivalent of multiple presses of the key rather than just a single one, or something like that.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jon.

Hello fellow Hutt-ite.

When reading your post, especially the ctrl-g showing playlist then library, it did sound like your remote configuration.

I've not had any experience with the MCE remotes. It certainly doesn't sound like ML2 if at fault here....sorry.

Have a look through the threads for some of the MCE configuration details, and if nothing found, try posting a message in the Support area.

I kind of had similar with my usb-uirt when using it as a receiver, but never got around it.

No, just IR.exe that comes with the Hauppauge and the GB-PVR Huappauge 45-button remote extension. remote type in GB-PVR is set to MCE.

Do I need to use HIP? I was hoping to avoid having to learn itCool

Thanks.

you dont need hip
but i was using music player2 and found it was doing some of the problems you had and wondered if it may have been causing it
i use hip to start gbpvr from the start button its an easy program to add extra funtions to buttons
i also found the music plugin programs affected the stability of playback(caused gbpvr to stop responding) so i am going back to using winamp , then hip to control that once you open from within gbpvr
maybe when the new gbpvr comes out i will give it another go

Yes, without that I only get very basic remote functionality (e.g. navigation and "Ok" buttons), and none of the other / special buttons do anything (e.g. My Music, MY Videos, TVGuide etc). With the fix, most of it works fine.

And the remote seems to work OK in other respects and in the other plugins (except "rewind" when playing an AVI - doesn't), and most buttons work fine in ML2 (arrow buttons, play, pause, stop, ffw, frew etc), just the green button and the skip buttons misbehave. Maybe others do too, but the symptoms aren't apparent.

I notice the skip buttons do the same in the standard GBPVR Music Player too (i.e. Fwd goes to the beginning of the list, Back goes to the end, rather than next/prev track), so I tend to agree it's probably a remote problem rather than a ML2 one. Looks like a single button press may be generating multiple keyboard keystroke equivalents.

I'll try HIP and the replacment MCE drivers, once the family are cool with losing me and the HTPC (again) for the days it's bound to take me to learn it and get it rightWink

Thanks all for the help though.

hmm, I will say I am stumped, because if the keyboard does the right thing, but the remote does the wrong thing, then it is the remote that is faulty, but I have no idea why.

you did try using the remote, then the keyboard, then the remote, and made sure that the keyboard always produce the intended action, while the remote was messing up?
