I am having a strange problem with COMSKIP. After a video is converted from .mpg to an .avi XviD file, COMSKIP doesn't skip commercials whereas it does prior to the conversion when playing the .mpg file. Pressing 999 doesn't seem to engage it (I haven't tried this while playing a .mpg file as I have none at the moment). What might be causing this issue?

It sounds like its not finding a comskip .txt or .edl file with exactly the same name (other than extension). Did it also get renamed during this conversion?

The latest recorded show is called "Extreme Trains". I have these files for it...

Extreme Trains_20081230_21002200.edl
Extreme Trains_20081230_21002200.log
Extreme Trains_20081230_21002200.logo.txt
Extreme Trains_20081230_21002200.txt
Extreme Trains_20081230_210022002.avi

And now I see there is an extra 2 added to the .avi file name. Why is that happening?

Search the config.xml for "2.avi" and replace it with ".avi". Future conversions should be ok.

Can I safely remove the 2 from all the other recordings? Will GBPVR see the different file name and play it?

No, you'd have to rename the other supporting files to include the 2.
