Recently upgraded to 1.3.7 and tried multi record with Hauppauge HVR 1600 on QAM. Changed to TS mux as required even rescanned digital channels as I saw is some post. Worked for me once! Now all I get is a tuner conflict. What happened?

The shows have to be on the same mux frequency for it to work.

Could you explain how they can be put to the same mux frequency?

Thats entirely up to the broadcaster.

With digital channels, on one frequency, a broadcaster can transmit one or more channels. Multi-record will let you record as many of these channels on one frequency as you want. You cannot record a channel that is on another frequency at the same time.

For example, on a digital cable system, then might be transmitting 8 channels all on the same frequency. You could record these 8 channels with the one card. On digital cable in the US its pretty common for all the locals to be transmitted on one frequency, making it possible to record them all with one tuner.

In Clear QAM (digital cable), and in DVB cable/satellite/terrestrial, its pretty common to have a good number of channels transmitted on the same frequency, making this possible. The same cant be said for over the air ATSC, where lack of bandwidth means you usually only get one channel on a frequency.

As I had stated in my first post I had successfully recorded 2 programs at the same time originally. The channels I am trying to record are my local channels broadcast in clear QAM. Not sure how it was accomplished before and can't be done now?

Zip and attach your scan-x.cache file from "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\BDA" and I'll give you some more info.

If you look in that text file, it'll give you an indication of which channels can be recorded at the same time.

For multi-record to be possible, both channels need to start with the same "T:" entry (up to the ~ character). So in the example below, you could record CBS2 at the same time as WTTW-HD since these are both on "T:116,0,0". You could also record NBC5-DT at the same time as WFLD-DT, since these are both on "T:117,0,0". You could not record WTTW-HD and WFLD-DT, because these channels are on different frequencies (T:116,0,0 and T:117,0,0 respectively).

Quote:...
T:116,0,0~P:1~V:1984~A:1985~PMT:48~PCR:1984~N:>2.1 CBS2 Ch* (000)
T:116,0,0~P:1~V:1984~A:1986~PMT:48~PCR:1984~N:>2.1 CBS2 Ch* (000(AC3))
T:116,0,0~P:2~V:2048~A:2049~PMT:49~PCR:2048~N:>11.3 WTTW-HD* (000(AC3))
T:116,0,0~P:3~V:2112~A:2113~PMT:50~PCR:2112~N:>11.5 WTTW-DT* (000(AC3))
T:116,0,0~P:4~V:2176~A:2177~PMT:51~PCR:2176~N:>11.6 WTTW DT* (000(AC3))
T:117,0,0~P:5~V:1984~A:1985~PMT:48~PCR:1984~N:>5.1 NBC5-DT* (000(AC3))
T:117,0,0~P:2~V:2048~A:2049~PMT:49~PCR:2048~N:>32.1 WFLD DT* (000)
T:117,0,0~P:2~V:2048~A:2050~PMT:49~PCR:2048~N:>32.1 WFLD DT* (000(AC3))
T:117,0,0~P:6~V:2112~A:2113~PMT:50~PCR:2112~N:>5.2 NBC5-WX* (000(AC3))

I see what you are saying about the mux frequency. I have just had a chance to try it out again using the parameters you mentioned and still can't get it to work. I still get the recording conflict. I am trying to record wfld dt and nbc5-dt

Try to schedule those two recordings, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and I'll take a look.
