Audio description channel on BBC HD

GBPVR is now working perfectly recording BBC HD.

I am currently replaying the TS recordings using Power DVD 8 due to resource issues with the replay on PRX2.

My current problem is that the sound contains the Audio description channel which I have been unable to switch off.

I should be most grateful for advice on switching this off either during recording or playback

TS recordings in GB-PVR will include all the streams related to a channel, including all audio streams being transmitted. Playing back these files in GB-PVR shouldnt play this audio stream, but I have no idea what you'd have to do on PowerDVD to achieve the same.

I emailed Cyberlink support who replied that Power DVD 8 does not support TS files !!! . Which is strange as it plays them very efficiently apart from the Audio description problem!!!

If playing a HD recording outside GBPVR you def. need a player that will allow you to select the correct audio pid. MPC Home Cinema does, and will enable hardware acceleration if available....

I have been playing with VLC media player this morning and it lets me switch of the audio description stream. After changing the FFmeg setting got system resources down to approximately 50% , not as good as the Power DVD 10% but much better than the PRX2 99% for the same file.

I get about 10% CPU usage playing H.264 high def channels in PVRX2. You probably didnt hunt down the Cyberlink registry settings to turn on acceleration, or are maybe using a video renderer that is incompatible with the hardware acceleration you're wanting to use.

I have been working on this for weeks, I have checked the registry settings as advised in other threads but system is still flat out when using PRX2 which is why I purchased Power DVD.
I have also tried all the Video renderer settings but I am unable to reduce the processor overhead.
