I can't surf. It will lock up on the 2nd or third channel change usually while watching live tv. When it doesn't lock up it just sits at a blank black screen but in this scenerio I can still change the channel but then it will lock up.

Windows XP pro all patches. GBPVR 1.3.11 updated today. I downloaded the latest drivers and software from the Avermedia web site. The hardware is a ASRock A780GXE with a Quad core Phenom with 4 gig of RAM with a 1TB drive for video storage. Radeon HIS HD4650 for a video card. Let me know if I missed something you care about.

Logs attached.

It may be caused by the combination of decoders you're using. Try some other decoders.

I'm working late tonight but I will look at it tomorrow. If I remember correctly I don't have any options. The drop down just has system default in it. This is a new setup so do I need to go download a bunch of codecs from some where?

Thanks for answering all my newbe questions.

Yes, if you dont have other decoder options listed, then you'll probably need to install other decoder. Dont ask me which ones and from where - I'm not the supplier of decoders. You could maybe start your tests with the 'MPV Decoder'. Google for it.

Raymond2, is the "lockup" when you move from a digital channel to an analog channel? Cause that is kindof what I see when moving from digital to analog channels using the TS Mux with this version. I was working fine in 1.3.7 but I upgraded today as you did an now I am having this trouble. DVR-MS resolves it for me. I think there is a problem with gbpvr releasing the audio decoder when using TS...but I cannot know for sure and am not the expert, I defer to sub as always.

Raymond2, I had a similar problem until I followed along with this thread. As sub says, it is most likely a decoder issue... for me it was.

Looks like your using a motherboard with the 780g chipset, you realize that you dont need the HD4650 to watch HD TV right?

I didn't have luck with the mvp decoder. Whats working for me is the ATI MPEG Decoder, available here for the integrated HD3200 (integrated on 780g), and I was going to put a link to it for the HD4650 but I cant find it Sad. Anyways, I'm running a 780g board and this is the only decoder I've found to give smooth playback and no crashing during channel changing.

Thanks, I'll check it out when work gives me a break.

I didn't really pay attention to so I'm not sure on the digital or analog part. I will get DVR-MS and give it a shot.

Yes I know I don't need the 4650 to watch HD TV but I do need it to watch TV via a S-Video port....

I will try the ATI decoder. Thanks for link.

I didn't get DVR-MS. The download was a codec pack for WMP9 and wouldn't install because I have the current windows media player. I will try finding a newer version.

I did the the ATI codec downloaded and installed and this did help. Now it works fine as long as I don't switch from analog to digital. I looks like it locks up but I can still change the channel back to digital as long as you are patient. I takes about 15 seconds but it does change and then I get the digital channel fine. It just won't display analog channels once you have shown a digital one. If you start off with a analog channel and only switch between analog channels it doesn't seem to have a problem changing channels.
