I have test some times the scanning channels from GB-PVR and have read i think all treads with DVB-S2 and find out thats S2 work with the hauppauge Nova s2 but not with other S2 cards without plugins. I found some things i musst change in the Astra 19.2 ini file for the S2 flag but all i have done not work. The is every time no signal on S2 channels. Maybe someone can give me a hind for this problem.

King regards Scan

Before starting, try applying the attached patch as a first step, since I used DVB-S2 with it the other day.

In the cases where it has "S2" in the these tuning files, I know the transponder is DVB-S2, but its lacking a few more bits of required info (Pilot and RollOff). Unfortunately I didnt have the required information available for all satellites, but if you can find it then the following info can help you turn that "S2" into the number that should be in its place.

For example, in the satellite ini file if you have "22=11720,H,27500,910,S2", the "S2" part needs to be replaced with a number constructed from the following bit mask:

Code:
Bit 0-1 : Modulation (0 = Auto, 1 = QPSK, 2 = 8PSK, 3 = 16QAM (auto doesnt work with Hauppauge devices))
Bit 2   : Modulation System (0 = DVB-S, 1 = DVB-S2)
Bit 3-4 : Roll-Off (0 = 0.35, 1 = 0.25, 2 = 0.20, 3 = reserved)
Bit 5-6 : Spectral Inversion (0 = undefined, 1 = auto, 2 = normal, 3 = inverted)
Bit 7   : Pilot Symbols (0 = off, 1 = on).

An example for you from one of my files:

1=12331,H,22500,23,182

182 = 10110110, which breaks down to 1 01 10 1 10

Pilot:1 - On
SpectralInversion:01 - normal
RollOff:10 - 0.20
ModulationSystem:1 - DVBS2
Modulation:10 - 8PSK

Here is the scan results I got for Arte HD and Simul HD using my new Nova S2 if anyone is having problems. You can copy and paste it into an existing scan.cache for Astra 19.2E in your BDA folder.
Arte is a good Franco / German documentary / film / arty channel- first entry is for German, second is for French. Simul HD just loops a documentary, but is good for showing off to friends and testing.

Cheers for this thread- got me up and running before I could even get the bundled Power Cinema to play ball.

(but then, you don't expect something from Hauppauge to actually work first time, eh?!)
