Getting an issue that I think is multirecord related.

Recording shortland st every night off tv2 7pm to 7:30. Comes of DVB-S generally.

On Fridays (and other days the same problem shows up), Americas next top model starts at 7:30. Shortland st is generally cut off. Looking at the log you can see the Americas Next top model start bang on 7:30. Again off the DVB-S.

Why, when there are two pvr500 tuners sitting there idle, will it use the same tuner?

Logs are attached.
Code:
<PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>false</PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>
<TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible>true</TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible>

Not sure what effect these with have with multirecord, and show I turn on the PreferAlternatingCaptureSources, but not sure what effect that will have on two recordings off same frequency?

Sorry, it was sitting in a browser tab waiting to be answered when I found time to check the logs a little later in the day.

Both PreferAlternatingCaptureSources and TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible are ignored if multi-record is enabled. My memory of what exactly it does around some of these back-to-back situations, when multiple tuners are present, is a bit hazy. I'll need to investigate it soon though - there was another thread about this recently. It gets pretty complex...

I imagine it does get pretty complex.

Seems to default to the multirecord capable tuner and forget about the others. Although when the multirecord tuner is in use, then it uses the others.

so why is the the same tuner even been used is my question

(i have gone back to allocating one tuner for tvnz and one for canwest )

any possible update on this sub? I know you're busy.

Do you need any more details? AFAIK it should happen again tonight...hmm actually maybe not since I have 3 programs in a row off tv2 (7:00 to about 11:00), and one off tv3 at 7:30.

Sorry, no update this stage. I've got it on my list to look into when I've got more time though.
