I know this appears easy but i've looked at the addepisode and WizRenameRecording and they do not appear to have an option for changing the extension. my goal is to compress the mpeg files to avi and change their extension accordingly in Postprocessing.bat.

Help is appreciated!

Sounds like you want to transcode. You might want to take a look at statiks transcode batch file on the wiki, or a utility like handbrake.

If you rename the file by either just renaming or by transcoding and get rid of it's old .MPG copy then GBPVR will automagically see this and updates it's own database.

Provided you have not changed this enty in config.xml

Great thanks! i'll probably go with config.xml for now. i had no idea all you have to do is change the extension while keeping the same file name!

Sorry, my post should have read "provided you have not changed...."

The default is to automagically handle the rename.

why not just use the automatic trancode option, configured in config.exe?
