Support for Hauppauge HD-PVR 1212

Is the Hauppauge HD-PVR 1212 on of the supported platforms? I just bought one and I can't use the remote with the software it came with. They recommended I go buy something for $95, but free.99 is a much better price.

Yes, you can use a Hauppauge HD-PVR with GB-PVR.

So what do I need to do to make it work. Every setting I try tells me that I am trying the wrong device.

I dont understand exactly what you're seeing. Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I can't see any channels in liveTV.

It would be good if someone can put their config setup screenshots on this forum.

Lot of people bought the 1212 HD PVR (due to the slickdeal post). The only free PVR program that 1212 is supposed to work is gbpvr (claimed on the letter from Hauppauge that comes with the box )

In those it looks like its not finding a compatible set of decoders on your machine.

What H.264/AAC/AC3 decoders do you have selected on the playback tab of the config app? If you only have 'system default' listed, then this is a pretty good sign you dont have a decoder of that type installed.

The gbpvr config does not give me an option of selecting the H.264 decoder that came with the 1212 HD PVR (it should be under the software ArcSoft). So right now H.264/AAC/AC3 decoders are all set to system default. When I click on the ... tab (so that I can browse to the ArcSoft dir), nothing happens.
