Not sure if this is in the right section but does GB-PVR support NAS for video and music streaming?

AFAIK, GBPVR uses standard Windows file handling ... drive letters and UNC. If Notepad can open a file on your NAS, then so can GBPVR.

Yes, that is how I have mine setup.

That is actually not true by default for the MVP since the server runs at a different Windows security level.

For some odd reason, the recording service is trying to access the NAS with a guest account. This is even more odd as other access to libraries etc it uses the correctly configured account set up for access to the server.

Any ideas how to force the recording service to use the correct account?

Have you tried going into Control Panel and changing the Log On user of the recording service?

thanks for the replies, is it possible to have the MVP server running solely off the NAS drive so i dont have to keep my PC on while watching films etc?

mvpmc does allow you to load media directly from a NAS or other share in native file browser mode, but you would not be able to get the GBPVR interface because it requires a Windows server.
