Hi,
I read in a post that claims the maximum MVPs it can support is 12 per server.
Is that a specific restriction imposed by the server or is it because the server cannot support more than 12 MVPs due to performance?

If it is due to performance, what are the issues with more than 12 MVPs? Is it due to possible jittery video?

The is no limitation imposed on the number of MVP clients, but your server or network performance will get worse the more you add - resulting in both slower menu response and eventually stuttering movie playback.

Jumping in....does anyone here use 4 or more MVP's with one server? Is the server dedicated or used for other things as well? Care to share the specs on your server...

Hiya,
I am running six as we have one on each TV set for convenience but rarely have more than two in use at a time. Machine spec in signature.

Thanks for the replies. Is it possible for a MVP to talk to more than one server then? For example, one server may be used to serve movies, while the other will be used for other types of content...

Thanks for the info guys. My pvr system is also my desktop computer. I can surf the net or author dvds while recording but the MVP loses its connection occasionally when the disc is being burned. I'm going to look at setting up a dedicated server eventually. Wink
