Hi,

first i want to say that the new release is great ! Even one feature i thought was not possible (fast channel switching in less then 1 second ) is implemented.

Now the last feature i am looking for is a search in the description while using fastfind, searchguide or some other plugin. Is something like this in development already (i think i did read about it in a post from sub) ?

i doubt sub would bother with this, he leaves this stuff up for plugin developers, so if its going to appear anywhere its going to appear in fastfind.

i too would really love to see this feature, even if it takes awhile, just make it so its not searching as you type it it. (ie type in the search parameters, then hit search).

Fastfind supports search by description. Hit ctrl-y or the yellow key to toggle between title/channel/description.

thanks jorrm .. i already had a quick look at the select statement and thought about extending the where clause myself. Now i don't have to do it :-)

However i wonder why the description field in the programme Table is a text field and limited to 255 chars instead of a memo field. I usally use Oracle so i don't have experience with access. Can you do no searches in a memo field and is there another way to get around the 255 chars limit in access ?

I ask because the german TV Movie EPG has very detailed description and you can only see the first few lines.

I am not sure why it is not a memo field either. Maybe makes the db to big.

Reven,
Soon you will be able to use it in the ERM as well. Record by description.
