Can someone please point me to a guide or How-To get rid of all that annoying microsoft-babysitting-security in Vista, all that "do you really want to do this" asking is killing my patience.

Thanks

Easy. Open up control panel/user accounts. Select the user and you will find an option to turn UAC off. Mine has been off since I got Vista Feb 2007.

Go to control panel, switch to classic view if not already switched, go to "User Accounts", click on "Turn User Account Control on or off", un-check the check box, click ok, reboot.

Thanks a lot, with all this verification and confirmation on should think I was about to launch a multi-warhead nuclear attack-missile instead of just running the Tuning Assistant... Big Grin

Is there any way to stop it moaning at you every reboot that you've turned UAC off (popup help thing)? It's far less annoying than UAC itself, but still....

I guess you can turn the popups off in windows-config-safetycentre, or something like that, I had to translate from dutch to englishSmile. That's where you turn off the pop-ups for having no firewall or no antivirus aswell.

I just have to say this:

The GBPVR community must be one of the best in the world, really an example of international cooperation that others should look to and follow SmileSmileSmile

Just remember if your 'Internet Banking' etc is effected your Bank will check your security setup before paying up

Better to just install programs on drive 'C' outside of 'programs' folder. Windows adds extra protection to the 'programs' folder (to stop the obvious).
