switching tuning spaces

when i switch from a atsc channel to a svideo-in ch. and that card is busy recording, i get black screen...it's almost as if it's trying to tune it, as i can wait there as long as i want and just hit ch down and it'll go back to previous channel. i thought it might be trying to display the [tuners are busy,select one that's recording below] message,so i hit down and ok, but it isn't...that didn't do anything..i just changed channel back and that worked fine..
so it seems like it doesn't know how to popup the busy dialog when changing channels in livetv...
when the tuner isn't busy, it changes fine...

just confirmed, changing channels in livetv from atsc to svideo channels, if the svideo ch's are busy, it doesn't do anything, just black screen, can successfully change ch back to atsc.

if svideo not busy recording, can change to and from svideo ch's fine..
expected to see 'busy' dialog where i could pick in-progress recording to watch, so i hit appropriate keys,in case i just wasn't 'seeing' it, and nothing happens, but can still change back to atsc ch fine...

i'm using the PCH2 pvrx2.exe currently...and can also confirm the resume problem w/that exe only happens on in-progress recordings,finished stuff resumes fine...

i'll try the 'official' 1.3.11 exe here soon to see if any diff...

oh, here's a cute one....when i stopped livetv after above testing, The 'busy' dialog came up!!!!
only i wasn't playing anything,just stopping current livetv channel...
like the dialog was stuck in que behind something...
when i select the svideo recoding in progress, it plays it...

confirmed, just tried it again and it did it exactly same way...
dialog comes up after i stop livetv...[after unsuccessfull ch change to svideo]

it also happens with the original pvrx2.exe from 1.3.11 as well...only i just see a flash of the dialog when i stop livetv, it doesn't wait for me to select anything...
still black screen on the busy tuner...
did it again and it did show me the dialog *after* going back to a good channel and stopping..

I put in a wishlist request about this behavior a few months ago: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=40597

perhaps something for this has made it's way in to 1.4, but sub never commented on the matter.

I've mentioned the problem in PCH/PVRX2 jumping from the analog to digital tuner several times. The tuning does occur and if you hit the livetv key the station starts up right away. D-D and D to A work fine.

is that on the pch? this is on the main machine, not even a client...
if tuner isn't busy everything changes fine for me both ways...
problem only occurs when tuner you're changing to is busy when switching tuning spaces..

seems to be directly related to the dialog popup just not getting focus...

i had seen johnson's post before, and another one somewhere i added to...same prob.
i tried the old exe, but forgot there was a rec. service also that went with it..
so i'll change that and see if any difference...

i just don't remember having this problem until i changed to pch2 stuff...
[pch working a treat so i'd hate to give it up! it so rocks now! ]

i get same tuning action with default original 1.3.11 rec service and pvrx2.exe....
but the resume dialog works...

oh and just to be clear, this is going from Dig-to-Analog when the analog is busy...

so resume [dialog only] is broken for in-progress recordings on PCH2 version setup only, but dialog problem for busy tuners of another tuning space is broken in original .exe's *and* pch2 versions...

just trying to nail it down so it gets looked at for next release...

darn, resume doesn't work on in-progress recordings....
so not fixed in that .exe...
back to the original 1.3.11 pvrx2.exe for now...

just hope it gets looked at for next release...

I'm not aware of any problem that would cause this. Post a set of logs showing the problem and I'll take a look.
