Hi

I updated to the recent hdmi-version and something is wrong. All I get is a black screen and the PCH freeses totally and i have unplug it to get it working again at all.

Can anyone help?

Logs are attached.

The startup process didn't change and I see no connect attempt from the nmt. What hdmi mode are you using?

It probably is best to try and start mvpmcx2 by telnet and see if there is an error.

Just a quick note that I tried the same HDMI and got the same (Black screen) suing the 24 may version.

I need to try the 27 May 720p update or may need to set the TV back to auto (IIRC I had to change it to the component only version of mvmpc?). Anyway will get back to you. Component still fine and no freeze just black screen.

OK, this is my issue: I have a Panasonic Viesa TX32LX700M TV.

When I switch the PCH Audio/Video setting to 1080p under "component", PCH/GBPVR works fine when I select that input source on the TV.

When I switch the PCH Audio/Video setting to 1080p under "HDMI", PCH/GBPVR works fine when I select that input source on the TV.

However when I switch the PCH Audio/Video setting to AUTO, PCH/GBPVR gives me a very ugly green screen at 720p with half the PCH Audip/Video menu settings screen obscured, and the problem is I can't get back to the part to change the input source back to either Component/HDMI 1080p on the TV.

So I guess my Q is why doesn't Auto work, and is this by design? I was hoping to be able to switch seamlessly between them using Auto ...??

Cheers,

k.

From the NMT wiki

"Auto TV mode (Please use it only for FAILSAFE, not on a regular basis)"

If you use it you have to specify both -m and -o settings on the command line which defeats your purpose. Leave them off and select the value on the PCH, it takes all of 4 or 5 keystrokes.

I find having HDMI plugged in when it is not used bad simply because the HDMI hotplug events are still fired.

You probably selected the wrong 1080p (HDMI vs component) when you saved your choice, I've done this myself. Hit "TV Auto" followed by 0 on the remote and then make the correct selection.

Hi JiiJii sorry the thread got hijacked by an unrelated set of messages. Try adding --frequency 60 to the command line

If anyone else want to help debug thiscommon problems this is what to look for in the telnet log

Code:
!) SMP863x: em86_check_encoders_compatibility FAILED: Not a valid standard-signal-connector combination: DSETV_HDTV50-DSOS_720p-DSOC_HDMI

Typically this means the 50 Mhz isn't supported.

Parameter: frequency 60 didn't help. Error attached.
