After upgrading to .90, I still have a directory full of folder-grouped recordings, but the list is blank when I choose the Recordings menu. Is there any way for me to tell gbpvr to discover them and populate the list?
thanks!

If you just installed the over top of the last release, the recording should have been retained. If you uninstalled, then installed the new version, then you would have lost the recording as you describe.

Either way, if these are not showing in your recording menu, there is no way to get them back. Sorry.

Wow. I upgraded over top, and it cleared the list.
Is there nobody who can tell me how to populate the database? Or is that part of the "closed source" aspect of the system?

I was going to write a message that I have programs that were pending, finished recording but dont show up in ready even though the directories are out there on the disk. Is this related? I had the problem before the upgrade.

After upgrading (directly over the top) some of my more recent recordings disappeared from the list, but older ones remained. Anything I've recorded since the upgrade has not appeared on the list, though the files have been created on disk. I've checked the database and everything is in RECORDING_SCHEDULE and looks OK to me, but they aren't appearing on the ready recordings list.

Example fields from RECORDING_SCHEDULE for a recording that shows up....
95,49941,1,2,'C:\Video\Recordings\Near Dark\Near Dark_20050122_23500125.mpg',0,0,'22/01/2005 23:50:00','23/01/2005 01:25:00',1,1,1,2

One that isn't showing up, though the MPG exists....
93,86733,1,2,'C:\Video\Recordings\Granada Reports\Granada Reports_20050203_18001830.mpg',0,0,'03/02/2005 18:00:00','03/02/2005 18:30:00',3,2,1,0

There are differences in quality level, post/pre padding etc but nothing I can see there that should cause one to show up and not the other. I'm running the database on SQL server so don't know if that is related.

to come to think of it; programs not showing up in ready that have competed recording and show up in pending and reoccuring has happend after the upgrade. for me its something that I have to look at closer but i dont think it is becuase i didnt backup prior to the upgrade.

I just realized that I can copy my recording .mpg files to my "Videos" folder, and watch them through that menu interface. I lost the program descriptions, but that's not so bad.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] (tipstir @ Feb. 03 2005,20:11)]What you should have done, and I know it's way to late, was to backup the dbase, config.xml, irremote.ini and then remove GBPVR, and delete the folder because it's still hangs around after un-install.

Run Registry cleaner
Run Defrag
Reboot the System
Install the newer version
And put the dbase, config.xml and irremote.ini back? :-)

What is registry cleaner?

LOL! Just noticed, all my recordings *are* there, it's just that I have to scroll more than before.

Recordings is only showing 7 programs per page, whereas there's space at the bottom for 9, so I just had to do some scrolling. Maybe the old version only showed 7 per page as well but don't remember noticing that before. [Image: tounge.gif]
