Hi

I have noticed if you try to cancel the recording while the GBPVR is doing its recording, you need to enter the menu twice in order for the recording to be cancelled. For instance, you pick the recording which currently on going and you click cancel and followed by OK nothing will happen. You will have to pick the recording again and click cancel and followed by OK for the second time then the recording will be cancelled. Is this the bug in the pvrx2 or feature? Thanks.

This happens for me too, but I think only when I'm recording from my HVR900 USB source (not my PVR150MCE). I have to cancel it twice. Kinda got used to that now though.

Another thing with the recorder:

I am running GB-PVR on one of my legacy machines under Win2000 Pro SP4. I get out of the software totally and for some reason am going into the Task Manager. Lo and behold, GBPVRRecordingS (25,656K in memory) is persisting. I am trying to shut it down with the processes terminator and the tree terminator but it won't budge (Message: Access denied; but I am the administrator). I restart the computer thinking that RecordingS will not be in memory this time. No, it is. I am now going into the Start folder's nukes and crannies and delete GB's tray starter shortcut. I can find no starter for the Recorder program though.

I don't like any unsolicited processes lingering in RAM space for no apparent reason. Is the recording program started from somewhere in the Registry? Is for the recording program to persist or should this be considered a bug, or should GB-PVR's running on Win2000 be forgotten about altogether?

Thxs.

I don't know about W2000, but in XP you run services.msc and turn the recording service off from auto.

The recording service is needed for recordings to be made on the machine. If you are just running a client it can be set top not start (as above) but will restart if you run and exit config.
