Over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed that many of my recordings are freezing at random times during the recording for a couple of seconds, then plays fast for a second to "catch up" then resumes fine, until it (maybe) does it again. The audio also stops when the video freezes, but when the video plays fast afterwards, the audio plays at the normal speed. As far as I know, I have not done any updates on this PC for quite some time. I thought maybe it was a hard drive fragmentation problem at first, but then I remembered I have Diskkeeper running in the background which keeps my HDD defragmented on-the-fly. (I've had Diskkeeper installed for quite a while without this issue) Any ideas?

You need to find out if it is a recording or a playback problem.

Try to play a faulty recordings in some other software such as VLC (small, self-contained player) to see if they exhibit the same problem. If the skips are always in the same place, you have timestamp issues. If you are still using PVR-150 tuners, then you need to make sure you read this:

Yup, I have 2 PVR-150 tuner cards and I've had those drivers installed for a long time. I'll compare the video in another player and post the results. Thanks
