Does this software work with the SiliconDust HDHomeRun?

I don't get live tv, program guide, nothing.

I'm running w/ an HD-Homerun...

Did you follow the setup steps on the silicondust forums?

Is this ATSC or QAM?

If you're not getting the program guide I wouldn't expect that it would have anything to do w/ your tuner HDHomerun or other - what are you using for your guide source? I've enjoyed Schedules Direct
GBPVR v1.4.7
Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz
4 GB RAM, 160GB system drive

PVR-500 - analog cable stations
HDHomeRun - ASTC via antenna
nVidia GeForce 8600GT
1 PCH @ 1080p componenent (was NTSC via composite)
1 PCH @ 1080p HDMI (was component)

Yes. I did notice that under "Digital Source Configuration", the greyed box at the top right says "Type: DVB-T".

I am in the U.S., and I believe it should be ATSC, but there is no way to change it.

If you set the application to "GBPVR" in the the HDHomerun Setup, it should automatically add the appropriate entries to the bda.ini for your device.

If not, edit your bda.ini file located in the GBPVR program folder. Make sure to use notepad and not wordpad (make a backup just in case). Search for "Silicondust" and edit the entries to match your device ID and the type to "ATSC".

As for the guide, did you set up an EPG source?

I did the change in HDHomerun setup. It did NOT change the bda.ini file. I changed it manually. Still no live TV.

Have no idea how/what to use for an EPG souce, but gotta get a live signal first...

You need to set up an EPG source first, then scan for channels and map them to the guide. See http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Confi...HDTVSource

You can see the different EPG options available to you at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG

It's recommended that you use Schedules Direct ($20/yr) but if you want a free option, look at mc2xml.

whurlston,

Thanks for all the help; I appreciate it.

It's starting to look like GBPVR is not quite ready-for-prime-time. I'll check back in the future, sometime.

There are many here who would disagree but in the end, you need to find the software that works for you.

Should you decide to try it again, don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. I'll help as best I can and so will pretty much everyone else here.

HDHomerun and GBPVR are more then ready for prime time. I use one and find it works better then anything I've used in the past and believe me I've tried them all.

It just takes a little time and patence to set up and once set up it just keeps going and going and going.
