I'm having a hard time getting to the forum. I've had problems for a while but now it takes 5 to 10 tries to get here and some times I just can't get here at all. Is there anything I can do on my end?

Honestly I have not had an issue getting on in months and I am on several times a day. Sounds like it is at your end, but I don't know how to help. Perhaps you can look for one of those utility services that can trace all the hops you go through to get to the host site. That might help you understand where the issue is.

It's probably a DNS resolution issue. If your PC's dns points to your router, you might try going directly to the ISP's DNS instead; I've seen more than one instance where the router's DNS proxy was fouling up the works. You could also use OpenDNS: http://www.opendns.com

I do have a router but as far as I know I'm using my isp (comcast) dns server. I don't see any dns options in my router.
edit to add that this is the only site I'm having a problem with.

Just like to add that I'm with donschjr on this one, last couple of days I've had to do 3 or 4 refresh's before I could get the site.

And all this time i thought it was me or the site was having problems. I can't explain it either but I also get times where it takes half a dozen refreshes to get here, other times it just pops up like it always used to. I've only noticed this in the last couple of weeks.

It's risky but I use a hosts files entry because occasionally the DNS lookup was slow.

Note my problems with having to resubmit messages disappeared a week ago.

Thats a good suggestion, and worth those with this problem trying this. It'll at least give you an indication of whether this problem is DNS related. It'll be interesting to hear if the problem goes away with a hardcoded hosts entry.

Great.
