First thanks to all for helping me get the two tuners in the Avermedia Duet recognized and running under GB! That part is done. My next issue is a video "glitch" every 5-10 minutes or so, particularly on a full HD program. Happens at the exact same point during playback every time, so I suspect the recording itself is compromised. Never had the problem when using the HVR-1250 single tuner capture card. I'm currently using the MS mux. I'm going to try using the TS mux and see if I get different results.

My system: GA-MA78GM-S2H 780g motherboard with onboard ATI Radeon HD3200+, AMD X2 4800+ CPU, Windows XP, 4 GB Ram, Samsung SATA 500GB HDD 5400 rpm. I think I have plenty of "horsepower" for recording two HD streams from the capture card at once. I'll do some experimenting over the next few days and report back. (For anyone trying to use this card with GB in the future.) Any suggestions are welcome. Smile

Changed mux to "Full TS". Recordings are perfect, without glitches. But I only get sound out of GB on Live TV. When I play recordings, nothing. The recordings played by KMplayer have sound, so the sound is in the MPEG-2 .ts.

Why GB can find the sound from the live .ts stream and not the recorded stream is a mystery to me. I'll try some other things tonight and report back.

Full TS is only for diagnostic purposes, when you need to upload a transport stream to to sub for analysis. You should use the ts mux for regular use.

I think I already tried TS Mux with the same results, but I'll verify that tonight.

No joy with TS Mux. I can get sound with Live TV up until the moment I pause the buffer. When I unpause, the video continues, but no sound.

You might want to try a different sound codec, I'm assuming here that these files are HD with ac3 audio so try ac3filter or ffdshow you can also try SAF (search forum for SAF) rest are on google

you might get better results, you may also want to try different renderer, ive had similar issues and changed to different codec and it has solve my problems

Reproduce this problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll see if anything stands out.

Finally, sound reappears. Used the following magic combo:

BDA Multiplexer: MainConcept, Video Decoder: InterVideo, Audio Decoder: MainConcept

The playback looked smooth for ~10 minutes recording two HD channels, I'll do some experiments and report back.

Can you point me to a thread or FAQ on how to do that?

I had thought everything was working, and it is better, but I'm still having problems playing back recordings after they've finished now. One program I recorded seemed to record fine, but the first time I use "skip forward" the screen goes black, except for the green bar at top indicating where I'm moving in the recording. At that point, I can't ever get it to start playback again without exiting to the main menu. The odd thing is that I was able to use trick play while it was recording. Once it was done, the first time I used trick play, video and audio stop. I really don't want to have to reinstall everything from scratch, but I'm beginning to wonder if I'm going to have to.
