Hi Sub
This one is not a biggie, but I noticed the video stutters on starting an NZ digital channel or on a channel change to a digital channel DVB-T. It also happens on my friend's Gbprv box as well. You can hear the audio start and then ocasionally see a partial video frame or two, before Pvrx2 stops it and then restarts the video.
I used DXVAchecker to confirm this and you can see Pvrx2 starts the process renderer and almost immediately stops it and restarts it again.
Please see the attached snapshots of the video start-stop-start sequence.
I wonder if a timeout is tripped before the video plays the first time?
It does not happen with Analog on channel changes, but it does make channel
flicking on digital a bit slower and glitchy.

Any ideas or pointers for me ?

Thanks in advance

GBprv 1.3.11 plus updates, no plugins, HVR2200, PDVD 9 and 7.3, XPsp3, dotnet3.5, VMR9

Hi.
Not sure if can be related, but you write here you are using VMR9, but in log there is EVR selected.

Do not use EVR on XP or VMR9 on Vista/Win7
There is no way how to use EVR+DXVA on XP, if you want DXVA under XP, you must use VMR9.

Yes I tried EVR and VMR9 custom with the same results.
I also tried using Acrsoft, PDVD 7.3 and 9 h264 decoders too, all giving the same start-stop-start on video startup.
The same stutter occurs on my friends PC using NVidia hardware acceleration too.
That what leads me to believe that it is something PRX2 is doing while setting up the display graph.
It only happens on TS digital channels and not the MPG mpeg2 analog ones.
Might be something for Sub to look at in 1.4

With reference to your Comment on DXVA
I do not get any DVXA 1 (or 2 vista) acceleration on my Intel G45 motherboard with H264 on XP due to MS restrictions which Intel followedSad
It all pure software decoding here, VIVA la CPU!

For completeness sake I have traced the double start to settings in config.xml
<BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord> and
<BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnLivePreview>
Unfortunately changing the first one makes my scheduled recordings less than reliable.
