Hi Guys,

as i was playing with the current version of gb-pvr, i was not amused, how difficult it is to create a station list. :o I find out, that the scanned stations are stored in the file SCAN-1.cache which ist text oriented. So I write a tool, which presents the possibillity to sort, filter, remove, rename, add stations in this file and save it.
So you can reduce the list of stations before you create your favorites.

This tool is less than beta, but by me it's working fine. It's not a plugin!
Copy the file in the BDA folder of your installation and run it. Be sure, that your gb-pvr is not running!

I'm using DVBS, so I'd never seen a file from other HW. Does it also work?

Download

Tell me your ideas.Smile

I will have look shortly, I have mainly been using a text editor to do as you say. As you say, with the large lists from a satellite scan, it gets messy.

Please note though - scan-1.cache is the file name for the first existing source. If you add another it will be SCAN-2.cache. If you then delete the first the names do not get reset back. List is from my folder..
Quote:SCAN-1.cache
SCAN-10.cache
SCAN-11.cache
SCAN-2.cache
SCAN-3.cache
SCAN-4.cache
SCAN-9.cache

The layout of DVB-T is different to DVB-S
Code:
T:C30,546000,0,0,8~NID:12317~ONID:9018~TSID:4111~P:4415~V:640~A:641~L:eng~PMT:4415~LCN:80~PCR:640~N:>BBC NEWS

DONT USE MY TOOL WITH OTHER THAN DVB-S FILES !
It writes wrong results!

Here you go. Scan from Belmont transmitter in North East England.
Much smaller than a DVB-S scan Big Grin

p.s. For info the channel G.O.L.D. (at least) is encrypted

Here's a QAM scan from North America if you want it. It would be the same for ATSC with one exception. With ATSC, they are all unencrypted. With QAM, unencrypted channels get marked with an asterix after the name:

Code:
T:71,0,0~P:1~TSID:35376~V:3200~A:3201~PMT:67~PCR:3200~N:>11.1  WHAS HD[B][color=Red]*[/color][/B] (000(AC3))

Heck of a first post by the way. Big Grin

Dear Mathias,

I think this tool has brilliance in it.

My 2 points if of any help.

Instead of looking for specific file named scan-1.cache an option to open any scan cache file. (Some of us have 8 or more).

A way to multiply select rows in the editor if you want to delete?

Otherwise I have found your utility tool very very brilliant.

Cheers

Steeb

Hi everybody,
thanks for your scancache sample files.

I have worked again on this ScanCacheEdit-tool.
  • Now it is very flexible of different count of columns of each type of SCAN-x.cache file.
  • File OpenDialog lets select your file
  • WriteDialog lets select new filename with overwrite warning
  • remove lines.. allows to remove lines with found phrase
  • some small bugs are also new, but you must find them for me Rolleyes

download Version 1.1 here

May be you need the common controls of VB6 wich you get here

Copy this exe-file to your bda directory of gbpvr and run it.
At the first time you open a scancache-file, it creates a backup of it.
Now remove your unwanted lines, sort the file by clicking on the columnheader an save it back.
It make it easier to configure your favorite channellist in gbpvr and enter not found channels manually...as i did.

and also one thing...give me feedback, please

Great idea: but sorry to say that I'm getting an error complaining about a missing mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies.

Sorry liteswap,:o
i was thinking, that the mscomctl.ocx is a common control of XP and Vista. It is the listcontrol of VB6 i'm using in my program. You can download this missing control here

By the way. I had seen that you exactly have the same htpc configuration which I wanne buy. My favorite TV card is a Terratec Cinergy S2 PCI HD. Would you like it?
