I am using the PVR 150 card with an s-video out to a widescreen TV.

The GB PVR menus are okay and the correct size, almost everything I record is correct as well, but most AVI's whether downloaded from the Internet or any AVI's I make myself, are usually playing as a square in the middle of the screen with at least 30% of the screen on each side is blank strips.

Running the a brand new installed of Windows XP and the latest version of GB PVR. The older system I had worked just fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

Also, can I change any settings in the .xml file that will affect the size of video playing and not the menus as they are sized correctly?

Thanks,
Tom

F7 doesn't help too much.. .it changes it a little, makes is a little bigger but not full screen.

svideo and composite are always 4:3..
all 16:9 tv's have other inputs...component/hdmi/etc which enable 16:9 to be used...
part of the standard i'm afraid...
max resolution on svideo is only 720x480 for ntsc anyways so you'd be better served to use one of the other inputs on your tv..
then you could get 16:9 and higher resolution..Smile

When I tested my s-video input to my 16:9 flat screen, it displayed in proper aspect ratio. It doesn't do HD but it displayed the correct aspect ratio.

tomekz: Is the TV size properly set? All content would play at 4:3 if the TV size was set to 4:3 instead of 16:9. The menu always goes full screen because it has no aspect ratio information.

Which renderer are you using? If it's not one of the VMR9 renderers, you won't be able to stretch the video to fill the screen.
