Decided to try and use the NMTInstall to do a full dummies install. I am running this on a freshly installed XP. NMTInstall crashes when it tried to start downloading something. Hard to see what since it dies so quickly. Looks like it was trying to download an xml file. Is there some place to look for error messages?

Thanks,
Greg

Hitting the details button might show the error.

There wasn't a details pain. I moved the installer into its own directory and tried again. It seemed to work more, but maybe a coincident. But I must home something else wrong with the system. GBPVR failed several spots. It complained about failing to install PSIParser.ax, GBPVRFlowStatus.ax and TSMon.ax. Or something like those names. Then, after that, when I tried to start the config tool, it failed with problems about NativeUtilities. Never had any troubles with GBPVR install before in the years past.

I think I am going to reinstall the XP again Sad and try again. Maybe there should be more checks that all of GBPVR dependencies are installed.

I'll let you know on my next attempt.

Thanks,
Greg

Well, after many reinstall, I finally got a success path. Now, need to sort out an old issue I had quite a while ago. I also have some MVPs in my home, and when I start them up, 2 servers are listed. One of them is GBPVR and the other is mvprelay. I remember having this issue before. How do i get around it? I believe that I need to add something to the command line to explicitly tell the NMT the IP address of the GBPVR. When I started mvpmcx2 by hand, I could see it trying to contact my mvprelay, which explains why it failed to start on my NMT.

Yep, that was it. I'll add that into the startmeup script. Could I ask for a feature request to automatically set this field? I see that the NMTInstall get the IP address of GBPVR for some reason. Could use that to will in the IP address in that script.

So I'll try that out. I did kill my mvprelay for now and it starts up correctly. One question, is the Mayhem skin that it is set to for 16x9? Unfortunately, I still have the PCH connected to SD TV. The menus and such are in the top 2/3 of the screen. My PCH video mode is set to "NTSC", not auto. I checked the config.xml and it is set to 640x480 in the MVP section for that MAC address.

Thanks,
Greg

I explained yesterday to a similar request that my philosophy is minimum command line. If you choose to use mvprelay because you want to load mvpmc and not GBPVR that is too esoteric a need for this change.

Mayhem3 is an SD skin, however you should set config.xml to 640x576 even if you use NTSC Most monitors support this.
