---SHORT STORY---
I get some channels that have picture & sound while other have either picture or sound. I've read the posts and have tried what was suggested, but the problem still exist. Does anyone have any insight into why this occurs and how to fix it?

---THE TALE---
I've been using this product for a little over a month and have managed to figure out and find various answers in support. However, the number one problem that I'm having is the picture & sound issue. I've installed, reinstalled and modified the config file to no avail. I've even used the QAM.ini manager to create QAM files and spent alot of time scanning and matching channels. And it's not always the same channels that has the problem. What I ultimately wanted was to have all the channels available to me on my HDHomeRun to also be available to me on GBPVR. On this last reinstall (wiped everything off) I discovered that HDHomeRun actually creates a QAM file with all the frequencies that needed to be scanned for same channels. And it worked. But as I said earlier there is a problem with some channels having either picture or sound and not both and this prevents me from watching and/or recording those channels. I'm sure there is an easy solution to this problem, but I have not found it yet. Hopefully someone in the know will have the answer and will tell me the solution.

Can you zip and post your scan-*.cache files?

At a quick first glance, I'm guessing that KRON HD is one of the channels giving you problems (no video).

Open Config
Edit your Capture Source
On the main capture source configuration window (Not the window where you map channels), find KRON HD and edit the tuning string.
Change the part that says "V:5993" to "V:1984".
Repeat for the other tuner if you have it set up.
Close Config and start PVRx2.
Check KRON HD to see if it's fixed.

Let me know. If it is fixed, I'll check the other entries.

Whurlston, you hit the nail on the head.Smile Will this also correct the no sound issue?

Also, I'd like to understand what these variables (T, P, TSID, V, etc) are and do? If there is a write up on this stuff, just point me to it.

Really appreciate Your Help SmileSmile

There seems to be an issue where the scan detects the video stream pid incorrectly. Unfortunately, sub it travelling quite a bit these days and is currently out of the country so he is unable to look into it at the moment.

I've never seen a case where the video PID is different from the PCR PID with QAM, so I just checked your scan cache for an entry where the two were different. I then had you change the video PID to match the PCR PID (which gets mapped correctly.

You can go through your scan cache yourself to check all the entries. Just check the ones with an asterix (*) in the name. Those without an asterix are encrypted so they can't be viewed anyway. I'm going to work on a utility to fix the problem until sub can look into it.

As for the no audio channels, these are most likely due to channels that have multiple audio streams (shown in the results with "#2"). Try mapping with the other entry.

As for the meaning of the tuning string entry:

T = Tuning (all gbpvr tuning strings start with this) which includes the frequency. The other two values (0,0) are not really used for ATSC/QAM.
V = Video PID
A = Audio PID
P = Program Number
PMT = Program Mapping Table
PCR = Time stamps
TSID = Transport Stream ID
E:T = Encrypted channel.
N = Name.

These values tell GBPVR which elementary stream contains the appropriate data (video, audio, etc).
