Hi guys, as the thread title suggests I have no audio when using net radio. All other functions work flawlessly. I am using a HD-PVR and I get livetv, and recording playback all with sound.

When I play net radio i can see that there is an mp3 file generated in my recordings folder that plays fine when opened manually. I have tried reassociating mp3 files with wmp, and tried running the reregister filters bat file. I am running 1.4.7 currently, however, net radio did not work on my last version either, 1.3.7 I believe it was.

Ive attached a sample of the mp3 it creates, my logs and my config.xml in the zip file. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

I saw you use the Arcsoft Audio Decoder HD. Ehat happens if you try an other audio decoder?

Within the main menu I can go into settings and change my playback decoders. Ive tried all available decoders in that screen and I get the same result for each of them. I believe they are Arcsoft, Cyberlink, and System Default.

I've changed to all available decoders within the config menu and I still get the same result. No sound. Does anyone else have any ideas? Im at a loss since everything else is working fine.

By the way Im on Windows XP MCE 2005. SP3 installed.

I can't offer a solution but I can offer that you try the Web Radio 2.0 it offers much more choice than Net Radio (even AAC streams from Shoutcast, which might be part of your problem). It also uses your choice of multiple external players hidden behind the GBPVR UI. MixMan's default installs a basic player based on bass.dll which is used in MP, I prefer configuring it for Winamp because much more information is displayed, and VLC can also be used.

When you're playing net radio it uses the system default decoders, not any of decoders in the config app. In your case its choosing the 'ArcSoft Audio Decoder HD', which is suspect is having problems.

You'll need to find away to change the default audio decoder decoder, or temporarily try removing this decoder.

Okay, Ive done a little research. I downloaded and installed GraphEdit and imported the mp3 file generated by Net Radio. The graph shows that the Arcsoft Audio Decoder HD is being used which is definitely the problem. The ouput of the Hd decoder goes to the Fraunhofer MP3 decoder and then to the renderer. If I delete the Arcsoft decoder and connect the pins where it was, then the file plays fine in GraphEdit.

I tried using Radlight Filter manager to unregister the Arsoft decoder and then playing net radio again. This time it just moved to the next available directshow filter which was arcsoft audio effects HD and that didnt work either. I re-registered the filter to get it back and then it returned to using the audio hd decoder. It seems I can create a graph that works and when WMP plays the file I get sound. I cant seem to get GBPVR Net Radio to play the file at all with sound.

I also tried raising the merit of the mp3 decoder to preferred +1 and it didnt seem to help. It seems at this point that I only know enough to be dangerous. Does anyone have suggestions? I could use a little help with filter manager.

In the GBPVR logs I see that it looks for an existing graph or filter list when net radio is playing the file. Where is this graph stored and can I edit it? Im at a loss.

Edit:

BTW, this is the portion of log file where i see GBPVR trying to find a graph.

Did you try taking it to the next step of unregistering both of those Arcsoft decoders?
