hi - not sure if this is a 1.4.7 issue but i can't remember seeing it in the prev version (have rebuilt pc in between versions)..

when i choose - record series all episodes on this channel, extra programmes are selected. eg, i set Life on BB1 to record and a program name Lifeline is added. Similarly, Coronation Street also adds Coronation Street Omnibus...

Appreciate anyones time/input - have searched and not found anything..
Cheers

It probably has to do with the way db/sql queries, for recurring recordings, work. gbpvr checks for programmes with Life (or Coronation Street) in the title. Since those 2 fit the parameters, a recording is added for them. This is better than looking for an exact string match, as it allows some leeway to deal with subtle changes in the naming scheme (ex: "Coronation Street Omnibus" and "Coronation Street: Omnibus).
If the timeslots/days for those programmes are always the same, setting it to record all episodes, in that channel and timeslot, might help.

you're prob right, but has this changed since prev version?

does it now do a like 'programme name%' instead of = 'programme name'?

i'd prefer an exact match as it used to as you end up with all sorts of additional unwanted programmes being recorded..

I think this started with the previous version. At first I thought it was handy, but am beginning to dislike it. I think if this is intended then it should only occur with the use of wildcard characters rather than by default.

Funny, I noticed a show that recorded for no apparent reason the other day. I know nobody scheduled it on purpose, but I didn't investigate further and just deleted it. I'll bet this was the same problem.

sub, can you clarify this?

if this wildcard is the default, be good if you had the option to use exact match or like...

I think the substring match got in by error and we pounced on it a bit prematurely. There is no way to create a substring by the user and it is just by accident it was spotted. Back to the EWA for now (although I've not really tried this, but use 'search' instead.

Its accidentally matching a substring at the moment, but I'll be fixing it.

There are a few times when substring matching can come in handy. One that springs to mind is Survivor Fiji, Survivor Samoa, etc.

Any chance of having it as an option but defaulted to off?

Probably not on a per-recording basis - at least not at this stage. I'll hopefully add something to allow wildcard type of thing in the next release though.
