Hi,

I just upgraded to Windows 7 and now I can't get my TV working again. I'm getting a lovely audio stream, but no video (black screen).

I've tried a bunch of codecs, including ffdshow and Cyberlink.

I just opened GBPVR, went to live TV, and closed it. The log of that is attached.

You should be able to use the Windows 7 video codec if you're on the latest gbpvr release (1.4.7)

Stupid question, but should that appear automatically in my drop down list in config? Or do I just set it to system default?

yeah it should appear. Something like microsoft video decoder dtv or something like that (i only have w7 as a dual boot, and it's the other side, or I'd check it for you).

post the two config logs as well, and that shows the system scanning for decoders to show what should be selectable in the config app.

Just selected that decoder and still no luck.

Is there anything odd Windows 7 does to the config file? I remember in Vista I used to make changes sometimes and it didn't work because Vista was editing the wrong config file. Or something.

For what it's worth. I get an image in the tuning tool.

I didn't ask, what tuner are you using? I assumed a dvb-s or dvb-t one. If you get picture with tuning tool that that means analogue tuner?

Not really sure. In the settings dialogue:

Hauppage HVR-4000
Tuning: Cable
Source: Internal Tuner
Country: New Zealand

It sounds like you're using analog.

The analog side of the HVR-4000 isnt really supported in GB-PVR due to the lack of hardware MPEG2 encoder. Some people have managed to get it working for analog by installing the Hauppauge SoftMCE software though.

This device is fine for DVB-T and DVB-S though (ie digital Freeview etc).
