I just recently purchased a 2nd PCH (refurbished) and new TV. In order to move the original PCH to the new TV, I changed the video resolution to auto so I could get an initial connection. Then I decided not to move the PCH, so I changed it back to the original resolution. Since then I cannot start mvpmcx2 and I get an immediate "Request cannot be processed" error. I should note that the PCH has a hard drive and mvpmcx2 was installed via CSI, and is started via the Web Service. I also tried to recreate the share and start it that way, but I get the same error. I have attached the logs in hope this might help.

All I really did was change the PCH resolution from 720p HDMI to auto, then tried to run GB-PVR, then changed it back to 720p.

I would uninstall and then reinstall using CSI. The Auto setting would have no impact on how CSI loads mvpmcx2

Tried this but it made no difference. Same error. I assume there was nothing of interest in the logs? I'm really baffled because it was so easy to setup the first time using CSI - nothing special, it just worked. I assume it's not network issues because I can browse the shares on my server.

This is weird. I saw in another post you asked someone to telnet in and try to run mvpmcx2. I did this and GB-Pvr came up correctly. The I exited and tried to start it from the web service and got the same error as before - "Request cannot be processed".

I think I need to approach this differently. SInce I not have a new refurbished A100 without a hard drive, I will need to be able to start GB-Pvr from the share on the server. I do not have simple file sharing - my server is running Windows Server 2003. The share is defined with a username and password, and I can browse to the share from the PCH. But I believe I need to edit the Gb-Pvr.html file to add my username and password. Does anyone know the exact syntax for this? Is this the only file I need to modify?

Sorry "Request not processed" happens before mvpmcx2 runs so there is no log information. Using CSI makes debugging almost impossible unless you can enable telnet.

The only reason I can think of is that you haven't connected to your network properly and your machine isn't getting a valid IP address anymore. If you have both PCH's on the network at the same time, you might need to change the hostname of the second device which for some stupid reason is on the Setup->NMT Applications screen as Device Name.

Are messages crossed. How are your running mvpmcx2 from telnet using /etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2 or using the wget method?

Yes, we were both posting at the same time. I have telnet installed on the PCH and when I connect it looks like the default directory is /share

/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK # pwd
/share
/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK #

and mvpmcx2 is in that directory
/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK # ls -la

-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Oct 27 11:37 userdata.bin

so I simply ran it from there. For some reason there is no /etc/mvpmc directory.

I forgot about this but did you try to clear your PCH cache? The cache does affect http loading when you have a hard disk installed.

I'm feeling pretty dumb right about now. How do you clear the cache? Never heard that before. I have rebooted it several times.

Good news and bad. I was able to get it working from the share on the server, then found how to clear the browser cache. Problem was that clearing the browser cache (or at least going to the maintenenace screen, hitting File Mode, then enter) deleted all the apps on my PCH as well as the shares! Is this expected behavior?

Anyway, back to square one and I will try to get it working again with the share.
