Edit channel name shown?

Some of the UK Freeview chanels have (AC3) as part of the name which takes up extra space and reduces the WAF. Is it possible to edit the name shown on the TV Guide or iss it tied into the EPG / tunning workings. If it makes a difference I'm using the DVB over the air EPG.

edit the db, in channel table, display_name can be anything...
"name" is the one that shouldn't be changed, and is tied to the epg, but display_name can be changed to whatever you wish to be displayed in tvguide..

sometimes that column is blank, so i just execute sql cmd:
UPDATE CHANNEL SET display_name=name;
which will populate that column for you to start with, then edit them to what you need...
