Any Way To Watch Live Tv with GB-PVR?

GB-PVR doesn't seem to recognize either my Pinnacle PCTV or ATI TV Wonder 600 tuners. Is there some way to get it to work with these? They both work with all the other programs I've tried except SageTV which won't work with the Pinnacle PCTV either.

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardw...reCardList lists the cards that are known to work with GBPVR. I dont see ATI TV Wonder 600 just ATI TV Wonder Elite. One thing I found when I bought an off brand was tha tit might not be in direct.ini or bda.ini. It is possible to add then just takes a bit of work. In the gbpvr folder is a program called filtercheck.exe. Run it and check the log to see what is detected. From that you can copy a card that is close and nake the name changes.

There's no ini files except for DVB. Isn't this program supposed to work for over the air TV? Looks like they left out a lot of stuff.

depends on what you are trying to watch
basically if its analog it need a hardware encoder
if it dvb then most cards will work with a bit of work

I was just trying to get the Pinnacle PCTV tuner to work to pickup TV stations since there are finally drivers available for it from Pinnacle after 8-9 years which is kind of ironic since most analog stations have gone off the air now but it looks like this program is useless for OTA TV reception if it doesn't support any TV tuner cards.

stustunz, in the US, all over the air broadcasts are now ATSC digital MPEG2. No more analog.



stevec5000: run filtercheck.exe and zip and post the resulting filtercheck.log as highestbid suggested. We can then create an entry for you to add to the bda.ini file so that GBPVR will recognize your tuner. I have a Pinnacle PCTV but the driver version you are using may use different filter names.

Not true, I can still get 9 weak, snowy, low power analog channels in Phoenix!
At this point I will probably just be using the video input for video capture though.
The tuner is a Pinnacle PCTV USB2 100e. It works with Dscaler but there's no sound. It also works with Media Player Classic too which is why I don't understand why GB-PVR doesn't work. I found the link to GB-PVR in an article about Free TV PVR and TV Recording/Capture Software but I guess the author never really tried them because no of them work except Dscaler and some like GB_PVR don't even have a way to select a TV tuner, which is weird.
