Kworld 330U USB ATSC tuner, with Kworld indoor digital antenna and the Arcsoft TotalMedia software installed. Audio and Video are not stable few digital channel received.

Purchased Philips SDV2780 Indoor UHF/HDTV Antenna. Audio and Video still unstable slightly better but not veiwable becausing of the cracking in the Audio and Video.

I am not sure if the problem is caused by the tuner or if it is an antenna prroblem. Digital Signal towers about 45 miles away from location tall office buildings dense populated area.

Any suggestions.

yea, that sounds like antenna issues...
the little ant. that comes with it picks up decently where there's a good signal. which suggests you don't have strong signal...
i have one and it worked great even in the last hurricane we had..Smile

i'd just get some coat hangers and make a quick 'DB2' antenna, plans should be readily available on web...it's pretty effective and easy to make and cheap$$ Smile
up it to a DB4 design if it's still not enough strength..

I got log off some how. Microsoft has a compatibility upgrade for Windows through their web site to Kworld. I will try that to see if there are any changes. I have purchased and installed an upgrade antenna from Philips.

The TV antenna Indoor UHF/HDTV digital SDV2780/27 has not helped.

Highly directional design
The high front to back ratio helps reject unwanted multi-path signal corruption. This ensures densely populated urban areas receive clear DVB broadcasting signals.

Even response
A flat forward gain slope delivers balanced reception throughout UHF and ensures all channels are received to the same quality.

i'd still say it's the antenna, as i have tried all those small 'indoor' antennas and they are next
to useless...while that one is probably one of the best small ones out there, it still doesn't have enough gain..great on rejection tho..
i've yet to find one of those little ones that actually works well...

and at 40 miles from transmitter, you'll need something decent as i'm only about 25 from mine...

I will buy this one if the upgrade does not work at the other location. The one at my house works fine with a roof antenna. The transmitter is almost in the line of sight an much closer to my house.

I purchased a Channel Master 2018 antenna. I am using a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1600 Dual TV Tuner. I am able to see the video on many ATSC digital stations. The audio is a little distorted on Channel 2. The reception is much better than the indoor antenna. The distance from the antenna to the TV Tuner is about 75 feet. The video and does flicker on some station.

Do you have any suggestions on how to improve the reception. I think the installer lined up the antenna with the information from the web site. Channel 2 is not in the same range as the rest of the stations.

The new antenna did imporve the reception, the video does flicker a little and audio is slightly distorted on Channel 2.

I'm 40 miles away from the transmitters and needed a good outdoor antenna (DB4) to which I added a preamp (Channelmaster 7777). This is with a KWorld 435u, which is the same as your 330u.

.

I had two KWorld 330u. The one on my notebook works very well. The other one at another location was defective. I returned it for a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1600 Dual TV Tuner. I was looking at a DB4 or DB8. Solid Signal support recommended the Channel Master 2018 antenna that would support signals from yellow, green, red and blue UHF over 40 miles. Antenna Web shows all my transmitter are under 20 miles from the antenna. Channel 2.1 has a compass heading of 41 degrees RF Channel 43. The other channels have a compass heading of 42 degrees with various RF Channel.

I do not know if rotating the antenna a few degrees will improve Channel 2.1 and distort the other channels or if I need a preamp. I am going to download the latest drivers from Hauppauge and the sound card to see if there are any changes.
