Hi there

Is anybody using the StartPVRX2 in windows 7. It seems to me like, if i play a dvd in PVRX2, it puts PVRX2 in front of the dvd that is currently playing!?

This is not the case if i just open PVRX2 from the startmenu without the StartPVRX2. Maybe some of the AUTOIT commands is translated differently on windows 7?

StartPVRX2's job is to ensure that the app stays on top and in focus so I'd say that this is expected behaviour. Is this different from the way that it works in XP?

I must confess I'm not using Win7 for my PVR yet. I've just got it working and stable after upgrading the graphics card to an silent HIS (ATI) 4650 and that has solved ALL my previous jerky video problems. No more tiresome swapping codecs etc. Sorry: that was off-topic. Smile

Thanks liteswap...

I have used StartPVRX2 for a very long time on XP without problems so i think it has something to do with windows 7

All the same, I would have expected it to act the same way as in XP but you never know. Apart from Win7 (a big change, I know: I run it on my work PC), has anything else changed that could lead to the problem?

I see the same problem with launching Total Media Theatre as an external task for playing blueray. But like liteswap says, as startpvr's job is to keep pvrx2 in the foreground, this is to be expected. However, I would not expect it to do this with the internal DVD player as pvrx2 is still the forground task.

The utlity could be modified fairly easily to NOT bring pvrx2 to the foreground if process x or y is already running. I was thinking of doing this myself but I haven't yet summoned up the energy as I only watch disks rarely and it's easy enough to just pause start_pvrx2 to avoid the problem.

running win 7 here with a near silent ATI 4650 on my nice Sony 40" LCD. it's flawless with any content I throw at it.

I will not be able to find the process. The internal dvd-player will look like pvrx2, will it not?
I only start dvd's as ISO files through demon tools(in pvrx2). That should not be a problem.....
Do you see the same problem if you start a dvd with the internal dvd player?

OK! Can i ask if you are using HDMI to your sony, and which render do you use?

I agree, the internal player is "pvrx2".

I just tested it with a dvd using the internal player and I have no problem. If I pause the dvd and bring another window the foreground, start_pvrx2 stitches pvrx2 back to the front so it is definately working ok.

Maybe daemon is interfering here. perhaps try a normal dvd.

I am using windows 7 basic 64-bit.

Setup:
HDMI cable
EVR renderer
SAF codec pack

Hi

Just to close this thread: My problem was the Imon plugin. I have the new Imon software running(from soundgraph) and it can't handle plugins as the old one, which causes the Imon plugin to crash.

Thank you for your time!
