My computer's clock seems to lose quite a lot of time. This can mean that after a few days, I'm missing the start of programmes.

Can anyone recommend a clock synchronisation program which I can run automatically every night ( and so will not require me to press anything)?

Thanks

If it's Windows XP then double click the clock in the bottom right of the screen. Go to the tab called "Internet Time" and enable "Automatically Synchronise with an Internet Time Server"
That should do it.

Thanks for the tip, Smeghead. However, I can't see anyway of getting XP to check more frequently than once a week - and I really do seem to need it done daily.

Any other suggestions ?

The funny thing is that I just did this on my PVR.

I'm using a program called AutoTimeSync. It's a quick and dirty program that you can use the scheduler to run every so often and it'll update your time without bothering you.

Just tried Autotime Sync here in Nz and it seems to think my clock should be set for October 2005 for some strange reason.

I use an old version of AtomTime95 (version 1.1a) which I can email to the Original poster if required. (It's freeware as opposed to the later versions which are shareware.

Only 300k in size and can be used with scheduler to do regular updates.

If your losing time that quickly I would replace the cmos battery, it sounds like its dying.

I use D4Time from Thinking Man Software, thinkman.com, and have for many years. Easy to use, works great, free, many choices of server.

I use Atomic TimeSync from AnalogX http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network.htm - it's free, I have it in my startup folder, runs perfectly for me. My PC clock is way out of whack, I have it checking and correcting the clock every 6 minutes.

Thanks for all the tips. I'll give them a try.

As regards changing my CMOS battery, I'd be surprised if I have to, as my computer is less than a year old. However, this may be a good additional plan once I get the synchronisation working properly

thanks again
