Trying to upgrade and ran across some issues. Will post logs tomorrow when i get back on the machine.

I ran across the problem where the previous recording service wasn't removed and I got that done. I also received one of the Error 1904 messages even though I installed the .exe file per instructions.

The install appears to be complete now, but when I kick off the PVRX2, the window frame for it displays, but nothing happens after that. Do I need to change the skin or something? Anyone else running into this? Any ideas? I'll post the logs tomorrow when I get the opportunity.

Running Windows 2k, Pentium 4 1.8 gHz, 640 MB of RAM, Hauppauge 350.

If you are runnng a skin other than blue, I would try changing to that. I would also try disabling any extra plugins you might be running. Otherwise, yeah we'll need the logs.

An empty frame is usually a sign that the video card is unable to create the large textures GB-PVR uses for it's UI.

What video card are you using?

nvidia geforce 6200 AGP8x 128 MB DDR2

Attached are the logs. There was a 155 MB log that I didn't attach. Let me know if you need it.

The skin was on blue and i couldn't figure out turning on/off any plugins.
In the logs, I saw this in the pvrx2.exe-native.log

That be what you were referring to about the video card not handling it?

That video card should be fine, but I'm guessing you need to install Direct3D. It looks like it isnt on your machine in that log.

That something I can easily find on google, or is there a preferred version I should be using with my setup?

I just ran dxdiag on my local machine and ran test Direct3D from the display tab and all three tests came up successful. If that is related in any way.

Try installing http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en, then try again.

That did the trick, thanks very much.

Now to get my hauppauge remote to work and to figure out what I can do with the new version.

Since I had been using the out on my hauppage pvr350 instead of my video card out, is there any discussion around the best MPEG2 video decoder to view with?

I dont think there is any consensus of best video decoder. May start with http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm, and if that doesnt work well, look into a different one.
