Once again, I know I've done something wrong, I just don't see how!

I installed the new vcredist_x86.exe, then v. 1.4.7.

I had also reinstalled MVPMCX2 at the same time, but I doubt that could be a factor.

I see an error in the logs concerning a missing VMR 9 renderer, but nothing else on my system has changed (AFAIK, anyway).

I'd appreciate any help.

You've got an old .exe or .dll somehow. What date is on your pvrx2.exe?

How did you install mvpmcx2? I'm thinking you might have used an obsolete version NMTInstall and applied some old version of PVRx2 on top of 1.4.7

Martin, I think you're onto something. I'll download NMTInstall again and report back.

Darn, I really hoped that was it. I reinstalled GBPVR10407.msi, but no luck.

Sub,

Do you have any idea which files might be old? I've reinstalled GBPVR10407.msi (a few times), I should think that would replace the old files, right?

I'd be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks.

If you are using NMTInstall delete any .ZIP that you would have downloaded with the "bad" version, and run the install (to repair) and the updates again.

No, I dont. If you post a directory listing of c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr, I'll check the main file dates for you.

You might need to uninstall, delete "c:\program files\devnz", then reinstall.

After uninstalling, deleting and reinstalling several time over I have found:
  1. Everything must be deleted.
  2. If I install GBPVR using NMTInstall.exe (fresh download), no luck. Config works, but PVRX2.exe fails to start, falling out with the same error as before.
  3. If I wipe everything out and install only GBPVR10407.msi, success.
This seem to point to a problem with NMTInstall, at least on my system.

Ironically, this all began because my NMT stopped working, displaying a white screen with various errors (sorry, I didn't make a note of them). When I reran my existing copy of NMTInstall, it froze with a complaint about "wrong version" of PVRX2. I had been perfectly content with v. 1.3.11, and attempted to upgrade to get past that 'wrong version" problem.

I'll try to get mvpmcx2 working manually, and report back for the benefit of anyone else.

To sub and Martin, thanks for the help.
