I did my first test with GB-PVR for recording Lost last night and then auto-converting it to xvid. It went into the recordings section ins PVRX2, and it shows it is ready. But I can't find it anywhere.

The recording directory is set to "I:\PVR\Temp", I went there and saw a "Lost" folder. But that folder is empty. I did have the GB-PVR's Auto-Covert to xvid turned on. However, "Delete Original File After Co version" is NOT checked. So the mpg file should be still there. Also, where does the converted xvid file supposed to go to?

I have looked through the logs directory and seems like there was .mpg file it created. But it has disappeared. Wonder if Auto-Covert isn't working quite right?

I will try turning off Auto-Convert and see what I get next time.

Maybe, hard to guess really. I'd start by performing some test with the auto conversion turned off, or at least make sure the file is in the directory while the recording is underway.

There is some issues with the auto conversion function though. Very very few people use it, so it doesnt get a lot focused time around here, and as result isnt very well tested. Last time I personally tried it was years ago. It was working ok at that stage, but I know it doesnt work great with .ts files, which were added later. The majority of people record, watch, delete, so dont end up converting to other video formats.

I tried 2 recording without conversion and they do seem fine! Smile

Do you have any suggestion of any easy to use software to do conversions? I have read a bit about BAT files post processing, I am guessing this the main way people do conversion, correct? Or do they use a 3rd party utility?

Thanks for the info.

Sorry, I dont do any conversions here, so I'm not the best person to give advice on this.

I just leave the files in the format they're recorded in. Watch them later, then eventually delete them. I think this is what most people do.
