Now that I've got my GBPVR recording both analog and I found that I'm sometimes accidentally selecting a TS file for playback on the MVP. This results in a crash that takes several minutes to recover from.

Would it be possible to remove or disable the play button from the MVP when there is a recording that is not playable on the MVP such as a QAM recording in TS format.

Also, could there be an option in the config so that any recordings that were done in digital would be marked on the main screen. For example all digital recordings could be prefixed with asterisk. If not that maybe the text could be in a different color. The idea would be to show MVP users that they can't play these shows.

I've got a Popcorn Hour and I'm looking to get either another one or possibly a HD MVP if they ever come out. However, even if I do that, I'm sure I will re-use the MVP by moving it to my kids TV or something.

Change the MVP convert string to transcode to mpeg rather than remux and it probably won't crash, just copy your setting from

<MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLineNTSC>
into
<MVPFFmpegTranscodeTS>

Wow, thanks Martin. That worked pretty good. Occasionally I get a lip sync problem but if I skip back 30 seconds, it seems to fix that.

It still would be nice to have some indication that the file is a digital file. Even if that was on the detail page.

One question though, will this change effect the playback on the Popcorn Hour?

Well I can now watch the digital recordings without it crashing which was more than what I was looking for in the first place.

However the lip sync problem is pretty bad and it gets to where it is not watchable. Just was wondering if there is any thing I might be able to try to improve that.

Sorry, I wasn't proposing this as a solution to playing ts files on the MVP. The best solution is to sell the MVP on ebay and buy a PCH.

Thanks, I just thought I would ask. I'm using a PCH in the living room, I'm planning to either get another one for the bed room or wait for the HD version of the MVP, if it ever comes out.

If you aren't looking for access to GBPVR beyone the files it creates there will be several alternatives like the HD MVP. I usually assume users want GBPVR.

Yes I want to have GBPVR. I was thinking the HD MVP would be able to use GBPVR sometime after it comes out. I haven't heard much about the HD MVP.

I like the PCH, it is working much better now than when it first came out. I still have occasional problems where I get sound and no video or it locks up going back into the GBPVR menu. Unplugging and plugging back in always solves it. Maybe I have a problem that I need to look at. It doesn't happen all the time so I have just lived with it. I was hoping the HD MVP might perform a little better.

Sounds like you need to send some logs with more explanation to the support forum. Sound and no video can be caused by HDMI handshaking issues on certain monitors if you as an example incorrectly leave mvpmcx2 running and turn off or change the source on your monitor.

I certainly don't expect any future version of mvpmc running on any hardware player to be more stable or more complete than what there is on the PCH now,

I think you are right about the hdmi handshaking. I've been taking it back to the NMT screen before I switch the TV over to another source and that seems to have fixed the black screen.

It looks like the A-100 and A-110 are not available anymore. The A-200 is available but not supported yet. I guess I will hang in there until the A-200 is ready for GBPVR.

Thanks....
