Hi everyone , ive been reading on this forum (in the shadows) for awhile....reading and trying to figure everything out for myself but the more i read the deeper i get...i guess i need to start with what i have ....what i have done and the problems im having

pc spec ....older gateway with windows xp.. E2160 dual core processor 1.8 with 500g harddrive space 1g ddr2 upgrading to 2g soon ATI 650 pcie tv wounder and ATI 2400 video card... fx sound blaster...dish network sat ...using the svideo to the pc and 42" lcd tv connected to the pc with HDMI can use VGA if needed ..

now what i have done.. downloaded gbpvr and Initial setup guides (great guides by the way ) used the guide step by step to set up got a list of channels using Schedules Direct seems to be going good ...now the problems

1) no sound i did read about downloading the ac3filters i did and changed the config to the ac3filter but still no sound

2) after i had everything up and was getting video i noticed that the only thing i was getting was the channel my sat box was on like food network even if i changed the channel on gbpvr to tvland it was still foodnet

3) what i hoping to do is use this to watch one channel while recording another and recording shows while away or asleep and also recording in sd is fine dont have hd at this time

Thanks for the help and for this great site best one i have found !!

If you're feeding your ATI 650 with the output of a set top box, then it'll only receive the channel that the box is tuned to, since that is only channel being sent down the cable to the capture device.

If wanted to record multiple dish network channels at the same time, then you'd need multiple dish set top boxes.

and a second capture card cuz that one only does digital and analog at same time...not 2 analog or 2 digital same time...

you can use it for over the air hd tho Smile just attach an antenna to it..
then you could watch digital and record analog same time, or vice versa..
[that's how my dish is setup, tho i just got another stb to hook up soon]

you'll need an ir blaster to change the stb channels...mce dongles are good, but just about any blaster should work with your dish box...mce remote+dongles are cheap tho..
just make sure to get a dual blaster eye one, as they are better quality..
[has 2 ir blasters to control 2 boxes at once too]
basically it just mimics your stb remote to change the channels..

You most likely need an MPEG1 Layer II audio decoder, like http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPA_Decoder.htm

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll see if anything stands out.

I know zip about sat receivers but I didn;t think s-video carried audio

Can you post another set of logs were its set to use the MPA audio decoder, and the audio renderer is set back to the default 'system default'.
