I'm in the middle of setting up hMailserver now - tried using pmail in workstation mode rather than with Mercury, but it wouldn't let me simultaneously access an account, so I'm going the IMAP install route. Will probably access with either the latest The Bat! version or RoundCube.

Thanks for the suggestions.

gmail allows you to connect up to 5 different pop accounts (more cost money but available) and download the messages into your gmail account. you can then reply to the message and gmail will use the same email address the message was sent to in the "From" field.
i use this for all my email accounts and it works wonderfully.
plus having all the emails online means i can access them anywhere.
i was originally going to setup an exchange server before i discovered gmail could do this.

I second this suggestion.

E-Mail sucks. I hate it and wouldn't want to be responsible for an actual e-mail server ever again.

I use gmail for *all* of my domains. I have enough to deal with just trying to keep outgoing servers internet relevant with the 10million different server great/black/white/etc-listing services out there and customers who end up on them by sending bulk emails to their opt-in user lists.

You can easily forward/or have gmail go out and fetch mail from multiple accounts and use the client of your choice to bring them to your desktop (pop3/imap)

You don't have to think about spam filtration or really even worry about data backup as google gives you a *ton* of space to let your email sit in.

If you don't trust google.. oh well. Your distrust just adds another level of tedium to your life and I feel bad for you Smile

I am responsible for the email for about 30 companies and 40-50 domains so I don't have much choice. Big Grin

Only about 3-5 percent of all emails coming to my server make it through my spam filtering.
