Hi,
I have a pentium d dell based mb with ati hd 4k series pcie card.
Playback movies works w/audio, however atsc tuned stations
have no audio. Winbloze alerts sounds work through tv(hdmi).
winXP hvr1600 ati hd4550

I set up ATIHD as audio render, and video render, everything looks
great (except the display is smaller than the lcd), but no sound...

Thanks,

j

It sounds like you do not have a AC3 audio decoder installed, try searching for ac3 filter, or install FFDshow, open GBPVR config and set AC3 codec to one of those audio decoders.

I'm pretty sure that ATSC channels have AC3 audio. If this doesnt work, zip and attach your logs from devnz\gbpvr\logs folder

Also on the Video side, somewhere hidden in the Catalyst control center you can resize the desktop to fit yout monitor. Unfortunately, i do not have access to my computer to tell you where exactly and its kind hidden in the newer versions of CCC

Thanks for the quick reply.
I did putz around with the catalyst control, but I will try with more gusto.
Seems you've been down this path.
I'll install ffdshow and perhaps a few other ax files at lunch.

Thanks again.

Catalyst control center does have a check box in it's 'advanced' mode to allow the image to fill the lcd. I wonder why it is not default. Thanks.
I did install several codecs to enable ac3, and vlc can use them. Still no audio with
ATSC tuners. Another odd problem is the blaster doesn't switch the STB, but I can live
with that for now.
Thanks again for your quick help.

VLC uses it own codecs, not any you install.

Try playing a recording in windows media and see how that goes.
What have you got selected for ac3 decoder in the config app?

See http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=45762 about the Overscan issue. As for audio, if you are running an x64 version of Windows, make sure you install 32 bit decoders because GBPVR is a 32 bit application. Also, set your audio renderer back to "System Default". Specifying it can sometimes cause problems.
