ITV1 HD - test channel

Has anyone tuned in the new ITV1 HD test channel on 10832H? I cant get it to work in liveTV (preview mode) by entering the numbers from kingofsat but it works fine in timeshift or recording. It's annoying that I cant get channels to work any more in preview mode as it used to be easy to enter tuning info from such sites. But it never works for me in the current GBPVR release, only in timeshift/record. Why does preview mode need to be any more strict with tuning requests than time shift / recording?? The Irish DVB-T channels don't even work from values from a scan (but do in timeshift...)

Don't know if it's related, but I seem to be having a problem on the 'normal' ITV HD channel on 11426 - I am currently recording 'The witches of Eastwick' but when I try to play the in-progress recording, all I get is a slideshow. Unusually, instead of the few minutes before the film being the ITV HD is not available message, it was a local news program with a large banner across it saying "turn over to channel x for your local news". I assume this is related to the new full-time channel.

I understood that the new channel was a test version of where the final ITV1 HD will likely reside (it's on the 2D sat) and it is upscaling non HD content for a full time channel. I am not surprised that some additional content is being broadcast on the existing "red button" channel, but I assume they cant just broadcast the exact same stuff as it's on a wider beam bird... Not recorded anything off ITV HD in ages though, but I cant see why that would give you the slideshow problems you have. Does recording/playback of BBC HD work ok?

Think it must have been a broadcast issue - I let the recording finish and found that the first half of the film was indeed screwed up in some way, but jumping to any point after that played fine. I did record a film on ITV HD last week and it was OK.
I guess we will need to monitor - the current red button channel uses incorrect video pid info to stop people watching (!) and Sub patched GBPVR to use it - so are they doing the same on the new test channel?

When I was playing with DVBViewer (for importing scans) I found the new ITV channel with a name of 10000 and it worked with DVBv without any of the usual tweaks being needed.

Guess I'll have to do a rescan - I've got a few channels now that wont play in preview mode liveTV and the WAF score for viewing them is dropping!

I was going to delay my big rescan until the new release comes out in the hope sub has improved it a bit (or the mapping bit of it)

Good point! I'll live with the slightly miffed wife for a bit longer!! All I'd want is to filter out the encrypted channels so I can only chose from the useful ones... OR sort the dropdown list alphabetically so you have some vague chance of finding the channel you want to map...

Just to confirm that everything on ITV1 is being broadcast on the red button channel at present - at least everything from the Granada region. All upscaled to 1440x1080. It is interesting switching between the SD and upscaled version - very hard to see any difference! As ITV will still only be showing 1 or 2 things in proper HD each week, it's hard to know why they are bothering. I know Channel 4 HD works the same way - upscaling SD content - but at least they do show a lot of proper HD material (mostly the shows from the USA).

I still don't know why it needs to be reapplied occasionaly - I had it on one of my PC's last week, and there had been no updates or changes made at all...
