I have been using GBPVR with a hauppauge 1600 both qam and analog tuners for a number of years. Recently, Comcast cable in my area has eliminated all analog and most clear qam signals. I decided to switch to using the Hauppauge HD PVR with my HD cable box. I have a winxp mce 2005 system with remote that works well at changing the channels on my cable box. I'm using component cables and the 5.1 digital optical feed to go to my HD PVR.
The problem I'm having with my new HD PVR is when I record a show, the resulting .ts file does not correctly report the audio as 6 channel, (it appears to default to stereo). Therefore, when I play the .ts file, the audio is not in sync.
If I demux the .ts file and play the ac3 file seperately, it is a 6 channel ac3 file.
If I use TME and record a show, the resulting .ts file is correctly reported to have 6 channel ac3.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
