i went in and checked, yes it was scheduled in the TV Guide (it was Red)......

Half and hour in, nothing! I tried canceling and re-recording, but still no dice.

Anyway, I used my other GBPVR machine to catch the last half an hour....

So I am wondering

1. why this happened - how do I avoid in the future
2. does anyone happen to have the full episode I could copy?! Fox do not repeat the show for some reason, they want you to watch the appaling "high def" online version

It looks like you've got that channel enabled on a digital capture source that doesnt have the channel mapped, and it tried to use that capture source to do the recording which led to the failure.
