I need to remove a tuner from my 4 Tuner box temporarily. I want to ensure that GBPVR reschedules the upcoming recordings properly knowing that there is one less tuner. Some conflicts may occur but I will deal with them. Then in a few weeks I'll be adding the tuner back.

To remove the tuner is it best to perform the following?
1. Create the recordings Dump file
2. Remove the tuner
3. Empty the EPGs for all tuners
4. run "pvrx2.exe -deletependingrecurring"
5. reload EPGs for all tuners
6. Import recordings.

To add it back?
1. Create the recordings Dump file
2. Add the tuner
3. Empty the EPGs for all tuners
4. run "pvrx2.exe -deletependingrecurring"
5. reload EPGs for all tuners
6. Import recordings.

Thanks in advance.

I have removed/swapped tuners sevral times, and I usually just delete it in config app and update epg, turn off the computer and physically remove the card. It has always worked for me, thou it never hurts to make a recording dump as a backup first :p

You could just do it the lazy way... disable every channel for that tuner :-P That way (supposedly) no show will be scheduled to use it, and the tuner is never "called" upon. I did it when my motherboard's usb went KIA and I lost my ability to use my pvr-usb2, and didn't have a single problem because of it, but YMMV.

As I understand gbpvr's way of scheduling, it does not pick a tuner until the last moment, so if you just delete the capturecard it will (naturally) not be selected for recording. If, however, the channel you have scheduled for recording is NOT present on another card, then you are in trouble Big Grin

if you right click on channel dialog, you can select disable-all or enable-all...Smile
