I may well have a try at this - ubuntu is certainly bootable from a USB stick.
The main problem as I see it is the lack of touchscreen support in gbpvr/npvr, there are some scroll touch positions, but very few. I have a couple of old Fujitsu tablets and when I tried gbpvr on them, although it worked, control it was nigh on impossible. You can see the limits on a PC by being restricted to a single button mouse.
Someone did produce an addin that had a cursor pad floating on screen, but it didn't answer the underlying problem.
My joggler generally just sits in the garage as a web radio now although some UK live TV can be viewed from what looks like a BBC flash source.

Would be very interested to hear any reports back! Think you are the only Joggler owner on the forum? Yes have seen people booting ubuntu 10.10 from USB. See the limitations with touchscreen though......

Thinking of getting one anyway just to have a play with it Big Grin

I have one sitting on my office desk which is running the stock software with the addition of Squeezeplay. Booting from a memory stick with either 9.10 Netbok Edition or 10.10 Desktop works well so long as the Joggler is happy with your memory stick (I have one it likes and one it doesn't!!).

The Joggler also works passably as a Squeeze Server if you attached a USB hard drive with your music on it. Take a long time to index your music though.

ditto! see you on ebay then... Big Grin
problem is, all the completed listings show that they generally sell for between £55-65

He he, yup I missed out on the original £50 deal as I 'ummed' and 'arrggghhed', then prices on ebay shot up during a 'buzz' phase and were going around the £100. £55-£65 does appear to be around the going mark now. Obviously £45 would be even better Wink

It is either a Joggler or a set of Sennheiser RF headphones as a late Xmas pressie to myself Big Grin

If you do go for it let me know gEd so that we are not bidding against each other! I will do the same.

Well I can boot one of the joggler images from the stick once I found a stick that that works.
But the screen is so small I am having difficulty navigating or using it at all. All my old linux stuff was done from remote telnetting in, but I can't seem to do anything like that out of the box.
Ah, well, I'll have to got and find some docs to read ;(

OK, found a version that
(a) boots.
(b) is readable on screen
© doesn't fill the screen with program icons at startup
(d) obvious prompt for touchscreen calibration and onscreen keyboard.
(e) allows VNC in to it after two clicks to config it.

Image came from http://joggler.exotica.org.uk/ubuntu/

next step, read carefully the other thread!

Well it doesn't crash for me. But I haven't been able to give much time to it over the last few days.

Fill yer boots Steeb. They are all going for 60-66 quid. I'm not paying that for a play thing. I put the money towards a Blackgold DVB-T2 HD tuner instead :-)
