I have a problem with Paraled and hope that someone has some advice.

I previously installed it in Windows 7. I had downloaded a new inpout32.dll from
http://www.highrez.co.uk/Downloads/InpOut32, and copied the dll and the installdriver.exe
into the gbpvr directory. Right click on the exe and run as admin, seemed to install ok.

The problem is that the LED's sometime light up and stay on, and sometime go on for a second
and then go off. They come back on again, i think every 3 seconds (paraled cycle time?).

I have noticed that I have a similar result with the LedUtility, so not sure what could be
the cause.

The only difference with this install is that I have moved to a mirror'd hard drive.
Thus I cannot see how BIOS settings on the Parallel port would matter.
When I go back and boot on the original hard drive, Paraled works fine.

Any ideas? This is driving me crazy ...

hmm... i have heard about this problem on some windows xp installation as well... IIRC, it's that windows/parallel port driver/whatever is resetting the port every x seconds.

in win xp there was a registry key that could be set to prevent this from happening.

i hope i can find that article again.... and hopefully it also works on win 7 :-) *searching*
AMD 1600mHz, 512 M RAM, 20+160 GB drive, Hauppauge PVR-350 + PVR-150 + PVR-150MCE, Win XP Pro SP3, using software decoding.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Thank you.

I did finally make this work. I updated the shortcut in the startup folder to include a manualcall for a diode that I was not using. "C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\ParaLED.exe" manualcall:diode7:on;
This has resolved the issue.

Another idea I thought I would share. I have a couple of Opto-Isolators connected that allow me to control AC (eg. Light Bulb). Whenever my computer would startup or hibernate, all of the LED's and Bulbs would turn on for a couple of seconds. Since it seems that all of the output lines of the parallel port were getting pulsed, I added another transistor with some shottky diodes to turn off the control transistors. I have attached a rough sketch.
