Since HIP does not run under Win7 x64, is there another program I can use which does support USBUIRT (at least for receiving)?

Autohotkey doesn't seems to handle input from usbuirt, but what do'ya know; the day after my post the author released a new version of HIP that DOES work under Win7, both x86 and x64! So now I'm happy again, but thanks for your thoughtfulness Smile

It works with the latest driver from the USBUIRT-website.

Just out of interest, does the USBUIRT drivers work ok with windows 7? Because I thought they had to be WHQL signed which is quite a problem for small or DIY type companies as well as some free software.

Would be better if the IR receiver was basically a USB keyboard to the operating system. Plug and play, no drivers, then the keys could just be mapped any way you like with a program like auto hot key. Don't know if such a product exists tho...

I'v never heard of such a product, but it would be nice... The drivers work fine for me, haven't had any problems, I seem to remember that win7 complained about the driver not beeing signed, but after clicking ok it installed just fine. However, I can't see the usbuort as a device of it's own, so I guedd it is the one that windows calls HID keyboard device or HID compliant device.

Edit: But HIP does a great job of mapping ANY remote to any keypress Smile

You can try LM Remote KeyMap (my software, see signature). It does support the USB-UIRT as both receiver and transmitter and works on Windows 7.

Stéphane.
